Lily Tomlin's quip ("No matter how cynical you are, it is impossible to keep up") has more and more relevance as the shape of Obama's presidency unfolds. I'm not sure that his supporters have appreciated the depth of which these questions will undermine his presidency, and how questions of illegitimacy are dangerous to a functioning government.
